This position is volunteer based, meaning I have to raise my own funding to continue my work in and around Casa Shalom. I have partnered with my church, Living Oaks Church, to raise funds, making each donation tax-deductible. Donations can be accepted two different ways.
The first is giving online by credit/debit card. To donate online, click here. Click on “View Donor Portal”, follow the directions to create an account or to quick give, type the amount in, select “Missionary Harper Severance” to the right, and continue typing the card information below. Giving online gives me 97% of the donation, with 3% going to the bank and the card company. Donating online can be a one-time gift, or a monthly/yearly sponsorship by setting up an account on the church’s website.
Another way is by check, during church service or sent in the mail, if that’s easier for you. Checks can be made out to “Living Oaks Church” with “Harper Severance” written in the memo line or somewhere on the envelope. Donating by check gives me 100% of the donation. For monthly sponsors, automatic bill pay may be an option through your bank, knowing that the check is made out to “Living Oaks Church” with my name in the memo line.

And for those that prefer electronic transfers, I use Zelle with my email address, harperseverance@gmail.com. Those funds will go directly to me, and not through the church, so no tax deductions there.
I also keep an Amazon list of current needs in and around Casa Shalom, if you’d like to join in on providing material donations versus financial. The Amazon link can be found here. I updated it monthly based on our needs at the home, whether in clothing, medicines, office supplies, and/or school necessities.
If you are unable to support me financially, you can always support me and Casa Shalom with your prayers. Pray for the health and safety of the children and those that volunteer, both Guatemalan and American. Pray for the terrible situations these kids have come from, that they will be changed thorough these ministries, resources, and relationships. Pray for our financial support, that we will continue to be able to provide outreaches, activities, and resources for these kids and communities.
